Path with Art offers workshops for homeless adults at the Frye
The Frye has partnered with Path with Art, a local non-profit that provides art programming to previously homeless and economically disadvantaged adults, to facilitate a twelve-week workshop in the Frye’s art studio.

Northwest arts leader and Frye Board President Peter Donnelly passes at age 70
The Frye Art Museum mourns the passing of Peter F. Donnelly. Mr. Donnelly joined the Frye Board of Trustees in February 2005 and served as President from October 2006 until his death on Saturday, March 28, 2009.
Northwest writers respond to Frye art in new publication
The new book Looking Together: Writers on Art is the culmination of a series of New Works Reading Performances at the Frye.

Honoring and Extending the Legacy of Charles and Emma Frye
As the Frye’s chief curator and director of its exhibitions and collections, I think a lot about what it means to honor and extend the legacy of Charles and Emma Frye. This means going beyond consideration of the question, “What would the Fryes do?” as early-twentieth-century private collectors with a public vision for their art.
New Partnership with Seattle University
Over the last year, Deborah Sepulveda, manager of student and teacher programs, has been working with Seattle University faculty and students to develop a five-credit internship program for Fine Art students as part of the Frye’s Gallery Guide program.
Frye Future: Collection Management Plan
The Frye Art Museum is undertaking the important task of rewriting its Collections Management Plan (CMP). A CMP is a statement of the Museum’s professional standards and practices according to the American Association of Museums’ guidelines, regarding proper management of its Permanent Collections.

Puzzle Solver
David Andersen, former Frye exhibition designer, faced the difficult task of turning curatorial vision into reality. Spectatorship and Desire, for which chief curator Robin Held envisioned a salon-style hang of the collection similar to the way Charles and Emma Frye lived with their art, presented an installation challenge unlike any Andersen had undertaken in his nine years at the Frye.
Ida Kay Greathouse’s Centenary Birthday
On December 27, 2005, Kay Greathouse, director of the Frye Art Museum from 1966 to 1993, celebrated her one-hundredth birthday. The Frye would not exist as the cultural center it is today without her commitment and leadership.
