Guided Artwork Discussion is a video series offering close-looking exercises that explore works of art from the Frye's collections and exhibitions. While designed for adults living with dementia and their care partners, these videos can be enjoyed by everyone.
Join Caroline Byrd, Education Coordinator, for a guided artwork discussion. While we cannot be together in the galleries, we hope you will still enjoy the opportunity to slow down, look closely, and spend some time with a work of art from the Frye Art Museum Collection. Download a script of the discussion.
Update 1/28/21: Collections information is continuously updated as a result of closer study and research sometimes revealing new details about a work of art. Since publishing this artwork discussion, the Frye has learned that the Chinese inscription on the right side of the canvas lists the original title and date. Per this discovery, we have updated the title to Father and Son and the date to 1973.
