This is an exhilarating time for the Frye Art Museum. With the exhibition Gabriel von Max: Be-tailed Cousins and Phantasms of the Soul, we are presenting some of the most spectacular paintings of the nineteenth century.

Throughout the run of the Frye Art Museum exhibition Degenerate Art Ensemble, the artist group is pleased to present footage of past performances, tours, animation, and other miscellaneous content from their vast collection of random DAE-related video tapes on the Frye website.

Frye Art Museum’s iconic painting by Gabriel von Max showcased in Munich

The Christian Martyr by Gabriel von Max, one of the most important paintings of nineteenth century German art and a highlight of the Frye Art Museum’s Founding Collection, will be showcased in a major retrospective on Gabriel von Max at the renowned Lenbachhaus Museum in Munich this fall.
