Position Title: Part-time Temporary Prep/Cook
Reports to: Gallery Café Manager

Position Summary:

The Gallery Café at the Frye Art Museum is looking for a multi-talented individual to join our café team. Do you enjoy preparing food as much as you love interacting with customers? The prep/cook position is ideal for hard-working, creative, flexible multi-taskers to prepare our made-from-scratch recipes. You should be fast while consistent and detail-oriented at our sandwich counter, friendly and knowledgeable when acting as cashier/barista, and caring and considerate as part of a small team.

Position requirements include:
  • Previous kitchen experience a must
  • Serving or barista experience preferred
  • Neat and organized
  • Show a positive attitude even during a busy rush
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Require little supervision
  • Possess a current food handler’s permit and class 12 mixologist permit
  • Must be able to pass the background check

Compensation: hourly rate plus tips & free shift meal. Free parking. This is a part-time, temporary position, without benefits, 11 hours total on Sat & Sun with plenty of opportunities to pick up extra hours covering for staff that is on vacation/sick or during special events. The position will terminate when the Museum closes for renovations in mid-April 2012.

Preference will be given to those candidates whose schedule offers flexibility to pick up additional shifts.

The Gallery Café is open Tuesday – Sunday, 11am – 4:30pm and Thursday, 11am – 6:30pm. The Frye Art Museum is located at 704 Terry Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104
