Thank you for considering making a volunteer commitment to the Frye Art Museum. Of late we have received increased interest in our volunteer programs and we unfortunately do not have additional opportunities for new volunteers at this time. Please refer to this page again for future updates and, meanwhile, please visit us soon.

Volunteer at the Frye and
  • Learn more about the Founding Collection of paintings owned by Charles and Emma Frye
  • Stay current with contemporary exhibitions
  • Interact with Museum staff
  • Attend periodic artist- or curator-led exhibition previews
  • Enhance your appreciation of art
At any given time, approximately 50 volunteers are committed to the Frye, its mission and its visitors.
  • Information desk concierge volunteers welcome visitors, share information, track attendance, claim-check belongings and much more
  • Museum Store sales associates interact with the public, answer questions about merchandise, and use a POS system to ring transactions
  • Collections and library volunteers work with the curator of collections researching aspects of the Frye Collection
  • Events volunteers are ambassadors who support Museum staff during events and in a variety of roles
