Teen Rap Workshop

Workshop with Allison Warden aka AKU-MATU

Saturday, August 16, 2014
10:00am – 5:00 pm

Art Studio, Frye Galleries and Auditorium

12 to 19 years old

Inspired by the narratives within Your Feast Has Ended, students will collectively and collaboratively create and perform an original rap song/long form poem exploring notions of neocolonialism and adaptation to rapid change in the environment.

Allison Warden, an Iñupiaq Eskimo interdisciplinary artist, raps under the name AKU-MATU. She has worked extensively in theatre and music with young people throughout Alaska, where her one-woman show, Ode to the Polar Bear, toured extensively.
