About the Presenter

Frederic Wong is an artist, curator, and educator. He has practiced the art of Chinese calligraphy and painting since his childhood in Hong Kong. He first studied with his father, and later with artist Li Fu-hong of the Lingnan School. His work ranges from landscape paintings in ink, to abstract “Non-Action” paintings. Frederic has had numerous solo exhibitions in the US and Hong Kong. Frederic is the Executive Director of the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council, and previously worked in arts administration at the City of Lynnwood, and in arts education at the Seattle Art Museum. He has received cultural grants from the Seattle Arts Commission, Artist Trust, and City of Los Angeles. He is the author of BRUSH INK MIND: The Practice of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting.
