10 am–4 pm
Whether you are a beginning painter or an emerging artist, this class will give you tools to move your artwork forward quickly. Students learn 20 key concepts and master-level skills. You will start painting with a grasp of composition, values, understanding light, color mixing, color harmony, edges, brushwork, palette knife skills and master tips and tricks. The workshop is designed to have all participants leave the course with many more skills than when they first enter.
Students will study the historical context in which the Impressionist movement was born, as well as short vignettes about the lives of select French Impressionists. Detailed examination of high quality giclée prints of master French Impressionist works in addition to a demonstration of oil painting techniques of the French Impressionists will be memorable highlights of this workshop.
