Virtual Lecture | Baroque Women Still Life Painters

ART HISTORY LECTURE SERIES WITH REBECCA ALBIANI

In the 17th century, female artists in Italy, France, Flanders, and the Dutch Republic were barred from life model classes, so they turned their talents to still life. Clara Peeters, Giovanna Garzoni, Louise Moillon, and Maria van Osterwyck all stretched the boundaries of this new genre of painting.
