Frye Art Museum’s COVID-19 Response

LAST UPDATED 09/19/2022

The Frye Art Museum monitors the CDC's Community Levels data to determine Covid policy.

While masks* and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative test result are not currently required for museum admission, we strongly encourage all eligible visitors to wear masks and be fully vaccinated for the health and safety of our community.

*Mask-required hours occur the first Sunday of the month, from 11 am–1 pm.

Hours and Admissions

The Museum’s public hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 11 am–5 pm. Our free admission policy is first come, first served from 11 am–5 pm, at 100% capacity. Please enter and exit via the Terry Avenue rotunda.

Mask-Required Hours

The museum does not require staff and patrons to wear masks unless CDC Community Levels in King County reach "high." However, to accommodate immunocompromised individuals and those who prefer to visit when all guests and staff are required to mask, we offer mask-required hours on the first Sunday of the month from 11 am– 1 pm. During mask-required hours, all guests ages 3+ will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. Negative test results may not be provided in lieu of masking.

Bag/Coat Check

A limited number of self-check lockers are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Please leave all large bags at home.

Café Closed

Café Frieda remains temporarily closed.

Additional Safety Precautions

  • Frequent sanitization of all high-touch surfaces
  • Enhanced air filtration throughout the Museum
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout the Museum
