FISA STATUS: Non-Exempt
STATUS: Full-time, 35 hours/week
BENEFITS: Full benefits including medical, dental, vacation accrual, 403b, and more
SALARY: $50,000-$55,000
POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Assistant is responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager with the daily physical operation and maintenance of the building and to provide backup when Facilities Manager is off-site.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Basic knowledge of protecting and preserving artwork
- Ability to perform building maintenance functions
- Perform electrical and plumbing repairs
- Maintenance of air handling and heating systems (HVAC)
- Assist with event set up and break downs including assisting with AV duties
- Painting projects
- Other special projects as they arise
- Monitor pest control
- Landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Waste clean-up and disposal
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with facilities maintenance
- Knowledge of building systems
- High quality standards and service
- Commitment to improvement
- Communications skills (messaging/email and oral)
- Remodeling/home improvement skills
- Automotive/mechanical experience
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manual dexterity to perform assigned tasks
- Able to open/close industrial doors
- Write by hand, sort/file paperwork, and sort and handle parts, detergents, chemicals and other materials
- Able to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods
- Able to work normal business hours and weekends
- Able to respond to visual and audible alarms
- Walking required. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, climb ladders, reach/work above shoulders, and move about the facility area/spaces
- Lifting required. Must be able to move objects weighing up to 25lbs. routinely, and 50lbs. occasionally.
