Salon Soiree at the Frye

This event is sold out.

Savor an extraordinary evening of sweet treats, nightcaps, and a one-night-only creative experience from Grammy-nominated multidisciplinary artist HOLLIS, backed by a dynamic house band. Party with a purpose and support the Frye Art Museum.*

Inspired by historic salon gatherings that brought together artists, intellectuals, and patrons for the exchange of bold ideas, Salon Soiree transforms the striking setting of over 100 floor-to-ceiling paintings into a dynamic space for a creative experience like no other.

*Salon Soiree is a fundraising event in support of groundbreaking contemporary art and artists and the Frye Art Museum’s mission as Seattle’s only free art museum. Ticket proceeds and additional donations raised at this event will support exhibitions, programs and, of course, continuing free access to the museum.

HOLLIS has been an independent artist for over a decade known for her ethereal vocals, sticky hooks, and poetic lyricism. With her roots in the Seattle hip hop music and poetry communities and now based in Los Angeles, she has released two solo projects, half-life and Subliminal. In addition to notable playlist placements across streaming services, her song “Less Like” was placed in the feature film The Wedding Banquet, and a cinematic remix of her song “Burn Burn” led the trailer of Season 2 of the television series GEN V.

In addition to her solo artistry, she released four albums as lead singer of Seattle’s electronic R&B trio The Flavr Blue, and was nominated for a Grammy for her work as the featured vocalist on the 3x platinum “White Walls” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. ScHoolboyQ. Other features include “Otter Pop” by Shawn Wasabi and “Take Two” by Chong the Nomad.

Driven by the power of culture to catalyze social change, HOLLIS is intentional to collaborate with creatives, artists and filmmakers to create work that transcends, moves and connects. Her upcoming album it comes to me in waves is a love letter to the dance community, and celebrates queer and trans people everywhere. Beyond music, HOLLIS is a filmmaker, writer and creative strategist, and is the founder of hww.work, a strategic storytelling and creative production studio.
