Discover, Discuss, and Create at the Frye Art Museum!
Field Trip to the Frye invites students to look closely, engage deeply, and express their creativity. During this two-hour visit, they will participate in a guided gallery conversation led by Frye Teaching Artists using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS)—a student-centered approach that fosters collaboration, inclusivity, and critical thinking. Then they’ll head to the Art Studio for a hands-on art-making workshop inspired by the work on view. The experience builds critical thinking, close observation, and social-emotional skills1—all through a fun and engaging process.
A brief virtual pre-visit equips educators with clear expectations and logistics, ensuring a smooth day on-site. Public schools participate at no cost, with transportation support available.
