Today is the fourth Tuesday in September so you know what that means….It’s National Voter Registration Day! The Frye is proud to partner with PLAN YOUR VOTE, a 2020 visual arts initiative that harnesses the power of art to promote and encourage citizens to exercise their right to vote. Dozens of contemporary artists (including Wangechi Mutu and several others whose work will be featured at the Frye in 2021 in the exhibition Black Refractions: Highlights from The Studio Museum in Harlem) have contributed to a public library of voting advocacy images, available to anyone to download and share. Check them out and put them to good use! And you can follow our Instagram, where we’ll be sharing artworks from their library leading up to election day on November 3, 2020.
Here’s a simple checklist to help you PLAN YOUR VOTE:
✔️Register if you haven’t already.
✔️Verify your registration if you have any doubt.
✔️Check your absentee status if you aren’t sure.
✔️Set a reminder in case you forget.
Help connect and mobilize your community by sharing widely with friends and family so everyone has a voting strategy! Visit planyourvote.org for more information.
