Dance Church® x Jeremy Shaw

Dance Church® x Jeremy Shaw

Join Dance Church® for a special class in the Jeremy Shaw: Liminals exhibition at the Frye Art Museum. Jeremy Shaw’s work explores altered states and the cultural and scientific practices that attempt to capture the transcendental experience. Participants will be moving, dancing, and sweating to loud beats and light projections while finding inspiration from the movement showcased in Shaw’s para-fictional film Liminals. All levels of experience are welcome, but open-mindedness is a prerequisite.

Note: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for this program.

Dance Church® is a movement class that offers a fun and inclusive approach to dancing. Designed for people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and identities, Dance Church is a communal space for people who want to move their bodies. The teacher leads this 55ish-minute class in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. The format is open but guided throughout. All levels, body types, identities, and genders. No previous training is required, but open-mindedness is a prerequisite.
