Small Frye: Storytelling + Art
Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña, illustrated by Christian Robinson
Small Frye, an engaging hour-long program designed for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers, combines interactive storytelling and visual art. Teaching artists from Seattle Children’s Theatre and Frye Art Museum bring cherished children’s books to life through movement, drama, and hands-on art-making activities.
On December 4 we will be exploring our special exhibition Recent Acquisitions. We will be reading Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña, illustrated by Christian Robinson.
Our trained teaching artists plan this program to be developmentally appropriate for ages 2-5. Small Frye is a free program, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required and opens one month prior to the event.
Tickets will be limited to four per group.
Doors open at 10 am, the program begins at 10:15 am and lasts about one hour. Travel in our neighborhood can be a challenge, please plan your visit accordingly. Doors will close at 10:15 am and no late admission will be permitted.
If you have not pre-registered, you may arrive starting at 10 am on the morning of the program to join a stand-by list. If space is available, stand-by participants will be admitted at 10:15 am. Entry is not guaranteed. Please note, the museum does not open to the public until 11 am.
This program is presented in partnership with Seattle Children’s Theatre. Check out The Snow Queen, running November 27, 2024–January 5, 2025.
