Small Frye: Storytelling + Art
Pipsie Nature Detective: The Disappearing Caterpillar by Rick DeDonato, illustrated by Tracy Bishop
Preschool children and their caregivers are invited to join us for interactive storytelling led by Seattle Children's Theatre and hands-on art making with the Frye’s teaching artists.
On October 2 we will be exploring our special exhibition Mary Ann Peters: the edge becomes the center through a thematically related children’s book and a hands-on art-making activity. In this session, we will read Pipsie Nature Detective: The Disappearing Caterpillar by Rick DeDonato, illustrated by Tracy Bishop.
Our trained teaching artists plan this program to be developmentally appropriate for ages 2-5. Small Frye is a free program, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required and opens one month prior to the event. Tickets will be limited to four per group.
Doors open at 10 am, the program begins at 10:15 am and lasts about one hour. Travel in our neighborhood can be a challenge, please plan your visit accordingly. Doors will close at 10:15 am and no late admission will be permitted.
If you have not pre-registered, you may arrive starting at 10 am on the morning of the program to join a stand-by list. If space is available, stand-by participants will be admitted at 10:15 am. Entry is not guaranteed. Please note, the museum does not open to the public until 11 am.
This program is presented in partnership with Seattle Children’s Theatre. Check out Cat Kid Comic Club the Musical, running September 26–October 27, 2024.
