Teaching Artist Training: Dementia-Friendly Arts Engagement

Designed for teaching artists who are interested leading dementia-friendly creative programs in the community, this training workshop will provide valuable research, resources, and hands-on demonstrations from facilitators experienced in both supporting and engaging people with memory loss in gallery and art studio settings.

Topics will include understanding different types of dementia and best practices for creating empowering arts engagement with participants.

 

Registration Info

This workshop is intended for teaching artists with experience in a museum, classroom, or community setting who are interested in facilitating dementia-friendly arts-based learning experiences. 

Prospective participants must register their interest in attending this free program during the registration window, open June 1–August 21. Registrants will be notified about the status of their application by September 11. Space is limited to 15 participants.
