Digital Membership Card FAQs

Beginning on July 1, 2020, the Frye Art Museum is excited to introduce digital membership cards as a benefit of your membership! If you are currently using a plastic card, please read on as we cover some frequently asked questions.

You will be sent your digital card when you renew or buy a new Frye membership. Look for an email from the Frye Art Museum sent via our digital membership partners, Cuseum. Your physical card will remain valid until the expiration date listed on the card.


Your digital membership card is unique to your membership and displays your name, membership level, expiration date, and benefits. Simply show your digital membership at exclusive Member events, Café Frieda, Frye Store, and businesses with member discounts to take advantage of your member benefits!

Digital membership cards will be sent to the primary email address of every active member. Open the email on your mobile device and follow the instructions to download the card to your smartphone wallet. Android users may need to install Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to download. If you don’t receive an email or you accidentally delete the email, please contact us at or 206 432 8227 for a new email with the link.

Once downloaded, your digital cards will live in your smartphone's wallet.

This depends on how your record is set up in our system. If we have one email address associated with your membership, your email will contain both membership cards. Once downloaded you will see two membership cards in your digital wallet. Members can then forward the email or use the share feature of the wallet app to ensure that secondary cardholders receive their digital membership card. If we have two email addresses associated with your membership, both members will receive an email with links to their own membership cards.

Your digital card will list all the reciprocal benefits associated with your membership level. Additionally, we have contacted all partnering institutions to inform them of our new digital card system. Simply show your digital membership card and ID at participating museums to receive free or reduced admission.

Yes! After your membership has been fully processed, your digital card will automatically update with your new expiration date, as well as any name changes you requested. Please allow up to two weeks for processing. You only have to download the card once!

If you upgrade or downgrade your membership, or upon request.

Digital cards function just like plastic membership cards. Please present your digital card at member-only events, the Frye Store, and Café Frieda to receive your member discounts.

By default, all new and renewing members will now receive a digital membership card sent to the email address you provide. If you prefer to receive a plastic membership card instead, please contact us at or 206 432 8227.

If you need a replacement card, please contact us at or 206 432 8227. You can also show your photo ID and a Frye staff member can look up your membership if you lose/delete your card.

Membership benefits are nontransferable.

Yes, we will send the digital membership to the email provided for the gift recipient.

We decided to implement digital cards with the goal of creating a more eco-friendly membership process. By going digital, we use less plastic and paper. Additionally, with the digital cards you can more easily access your member benefits, upgrade, downgrade, and renew your membership.

We have partnered with Cuseum to provide you with a seamless digital membership experience!

Open the email you received about your digital card on your iPhone.
Look for the button that says “Download Membership Card”. Tap this button and a page in your browser will open with an “Add to Wallet” button. Tap this button and then tap “Add” at the top right corner of your screen to save the card to your app.
You can now close the page, by tapping “Done” in the top left corner.
To use your card, return to your home screen. Then open the Wallet app, which is pre-installed on all iOS devices. If you can’t find the Wallet App, swipe left until you see a search bar on your screen. Type “Wallet” into the search bar and click the wallet icon that appears under applications. Your Frye membership card should appear in the wallet’s contents. If your digital membership card isn’t the first thing you see when you open your Wallet app, swipe right or left to scroll until you see your membership card.

If you haven’t already, download the WalletPasses app from Google Play.
When you’ve installed the app, open the email you received with your digital card on your Android device.
Follow the same steps as outlined above for iPhone users.

If your membership level includes two membership cards and we only have one email address on file, you will receive two emails each containing a single named digital card. You will either need to forward the email to the second cardholder or download the card onto your device and then share it.

To share a digital card you’ve already downloaded, follow these steps:
Tap the button located either at the top right or bottom right of the card you want to share.<
Look for the “Share Pass” option. Click ‘Share Pass’ send the card via text message or email to the secondary cardholder.
Once the message has been received, the second cardholder will need to open the attachment of the digital card.
Once the attachment has been opened, tap “Add” to save the card on their device.
