Field Trip to the Frye Request Form

What to Know:

  • Offered on Thursdays and Fridays, 10 am–12 pm, October–May (subject to availability)
  • Free for public schools with transportation support available
  • $300 for private schools
  • Visits can accommodate a maximum group of 30 students
  • Chaperones are required for all groups. Extra chaperones are welcome.
    • Pre K–Grade 2: 1 chaperone for every 3 students
    • Grades 3-5: 1 chaperone for every 5 students
    • Grades 5-8: 1 chaperone for every 7 students 
    • Grades 9-12: 1 chaperone for every 10 students 
  • Food is not permitted in the museum galleries or Art Studio. Please plan for students to eat before or after the field trip.


Schedule:

10 am

Groups arrive at the Terry Avenue main museum entrance

10–10:15 am

Introduction in museum Rotunda (meet the Frye team, setting expectations, dropping off bags, divide into groups)

10:15–11 am

Group 1: Teaching Artist-led VTS discussion in the galleries
Group 2: Teaching Artist-led art making workshop in the studio

11 am

Groups switch

11–11:50 am

Group 1: Teaching Artist-led art making workshop in the studio 
Group 2: Teaching Artist-led VTS discussion in the galleries

11:50 am

Closing reflection

12 pm

Program ends and group departs via Columbia Street exit

A 30-minute virtual pre-visit is required for teachers. This meeting provides clear expectations and logistics to help ensure a smooth day onsite. Please provide three preferred dates and times. A Microsoft Teams link will be emailed once your pre-visit is confirmed.
