Educator Workshop | Interacting With Art: Dynamic Strategies for Engaging Students
Art + discussion + drama = engaged and happy students!
Learn and practice discussion strategies for engaging with and integrating art into your classroom from Harvard’s Project Zero Artful Thinking, Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), and the Kennedy Center’s Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA). Discover simple drama techniques such as frozen statues, tableaus, thought tracking, character creation, and storytelling portraits using art and photos. Gain valuable resources to stimulate deep thinking and observation through using art in your classroom.
Registration required. Available for clock hours.

About the Presenter
Lynda Belt holds an MA in Theatre and Education, studied with Kennedy Center CETA, Changing Educaton Through the Arts, and was a member of the Kennedy Center Partners in Education Washington State Team. Lynda has taught K-12 art and drama and led professional development for elementary and secondary art teachers for multiple school districts and ArtsEd Washington. She has been a teaching artist for over 10 years and joined the Frye in 2023.
