Have you been missing the Frye Salon? Look no further! We are providing four different Salon images that you’re welcome to download and set as your Zoom background. This is a great way to show your support and #FryeFromHome whether you’re in a meeting or catching up with family and friends!
The Frye Salon exhibition was a re-staging of the Museum’s Founding Collection as it was installed in the home gallery of Charles and Emma Frye. The collection was hung in ‘salon-style’, filling the walls ceiling to floor with paintings in order to show as many artists’ works at one time, a technique that originates back to The French Royal Academy in the 1600s.
You can learn more about Salons in the 19th Century from our friends at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Add your new background, and you’ll be ready to impress all your friends or colleagues at your next virtual meeting!
