Jazz in the City | Darrius Willrich
Darrius Willrich is a multifaceted artist and educator from Seattle, celebrated for his work as a singer, songwriter, pianist, and teacher. A graduate of Cornish College of the Arts with a degree in jazz piano, Darrius shares his expertise as a faculty member at Seattle Central College, North Seattle Continuing Education, JazzEd, Off The Wall Music, and Seattle Drum School (Lake City) where he teaches piano and vocals.
He is the founder of Critical Sun Recordings and Critical Sun Publishing and currently performs as the keyboardist for Digable Planets. Darrius is also featured as a vocalist on Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers 2 and co-produced South African rapper Nasty C’s song “Overpriced Steak” alongside Jake One and Sam Wish.
Jazz in the City at the Frye Art Museum is a dynamic performance series presented in partnership with Ariel Media. This series celebrates the rich legacy, enduring vibrancy, and profound cultural impact of jazz music in shaping Seattle’s artistic identity.
