Makers at Home is an Instagram series from The Frye Art Museum Store, giving us a peek into the lives and routines of some of our favorite designers stocked by the Store during this unusual time of isolation.
Our first post from our Makers at Home series is from Shayna Esteban of Morning Ritual Studio. Shayna’s jewelry line is super popular in the Store. Her streamlined designs evoke the forms found in modern architecture and design. You can find a number of Shayna’s one-of-a-kind earrings and necklaces on her web shop.
Shayna told us what she’s been up to in her Seattle home and studio:
“My home studio evolves everyday now that my kids are ‘working from home’ with me. Sometimes it’s a space for imaginary play, other times a hurricane of craft supplies and paper cutouts. I don’t like to use my machinery with the family around (cutting and polishing slabs of rock can get quite loud) so I’ve been organizing inventory and gearing up for a new collection. I’m trying to involve my kids in the process taking their creative cues of play and wonder. Bottom line is that we’re making it work and I’m so grateful that we can be together.”
