Art History Lecture Series | Martin Wong (1946–1999)

Art History Lectures Series with Rebecca Albiani

Celebrate the closing week of Twilight Child: Antonia Kuo and Martin Wong with a deep dive into the life and work of Martin Wong. Raised in San Francisco’s Chinatown, Wong studied ceramics before moving to New York City to focus on painting. In gripping, visionary cityscapes, Wong depicted graffiti, brick storefronts, gay sexuality, American Sign Language, and a culture under threat from AIDS and gentrification.
