Art History Lecture Series | Ruth Asawa (1926-2013)

Art History Lectures Series with Rebecca Albiani

Japanese-American sculptor Ruth Asawa began crocheting with wire in the 1940s, and the technique allowed her to craft a distinctive sculpture style of biomorphic forms she suspended from the ceiling. Yet she also created very different public sculptures that grew from her activism in her San Francisco community.

The Museum Store and MariPili at Café Frieda will open at 10 am on 11/14 for lecture attendees as part of Members' Week!
