About the Panelists

Jamilee Lacy was appointed Executive Director of the Frye Art Museum in January 2023. Prior to joining the Frye, she served as Inaugural Director and Chief Curator of Providence College Galleries since 2014, establishing PCG as an innovative contemporary arts institution with an acclaimed exhibitions program and permanent collection. A prolific curator, Lacy has organized dozens of contemporary art exhibitions and projects, most recently with artists Sanford Biggers and Edie Fake, and was a 2020 recipient of a curatorial research fellowship from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. She holds a BFA in Art and Art History from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an MA in Comparative Art & Literature from Northwestern University, and was a Class of 2022 Fellow at the Center for Curatorial Leadership.

Kris Lewis is the John S. Behnke Director of the Henry Art Gallery, where she brings visionary leadership to guide the museum’s overall strategy, artistic direction, and mission-driven growth as it approaches its Centennial anniversary in 2027 and beyond. With 29 years of experience in the visual arts, Kris has held senior roles at leading museums in New York and Los Angeles. Prior to joining the Henry, she served as Director of Development and in an Interim Executive Director role at the Fowler Museum at UCLA. She previously led government and foundation relations at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and was Associate Director of Development at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles. Her earlier roles include positions at Otis College of Art and Design, the Whitney Museum of American Art, work as an international fundraising consultant, and managing high-profile public art projects. As leader of the Philbrook Museum of Art, Scott transformed the museum into a welcoming, inclusive, and family-friendly experience, resulting in exponential growth in both attendance and support. He secured a $10M gift in support of the museum campus’s first addition in over three decades, established a $16.5M contemporary art acquisition fund to diversify the collection, and overhauled the museum’s programming to center interactive, outdoor, and multi-generational fun and learning. Scott is also a practicing visual artist with an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Minnesota and a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
