Supporter Spotlight is a feature where we shine a light on our members and donors to learn about their connections to the Frye and why they support the Museum.

For the past several years, visiting the Frye Art Museum has been one of Aaron Sumpter’s favorite things to do on his days off. “Art enriches my life in many ways. The visual arts offer a way to see and experience the world in a different light. Art can transport and mesmerize,” says Aaron.

In 2020, he decided to show his appreciation for the Frye by becoming a Young Supporter Member. Speaking on why he contributes to the Frye, Aaron says, “I support the Frye because it is committed to free access and produces high quality exhibitions that feature local and global artists alike. It's a great launchpad for local artists and a cultural asset to our region.” He adds, “the Group Therapy and Tschabalala Self shows were incredible. I also really loved Cherdonna Shinatra: DITCH.  Frye openings are so much fun. It's something everyone in the community can be a part of and I always run into friends.”

As a Member, Aaron helps ensure that others can continue to benefit from the Frye programs and exhibitions that have enriched his life.
